Emergencies

Here when you need us most

If your pet needs emergency treatment during our opening hours please contact the surgery immediately on 01928 733228 to let us know you are on your way and bring your pet straight down to us.

Ashcroft Veterinary Surgery outsources it's out of hours emergency service to MiNightVet based at Chester Gates Hospital Services between the hours of 7:00pm and 8:30am on Mondays to Fridays and from 1:00pm Saturdays to 8:30am Mondays.

MiNightVet based at Chestergates specialise in providing emergency services at their hospital and employ dedicated night Vets and Nurses who are specifically trained to look after your pet in an emergency situation.

Please call MiNightVet before making your way to their hospital. They will then know that you are on your way and ensure that staff and equipment are ready as soon as you arrive. They may be able to offer advice and save you the trip, because sometimes what may appear as an emergency can be remedied by simple actions on your part.

MiNightVet is a completely separate business from Ashcroft, they will not have access to your pet's full clinical records until 8:00am when Ashcroft reopens. You are welcome to return to Ashcroft for ongoing treatment as soon as you wish, provided that the welfare of your pet is not compromised by moving from MiNightVet to Ashcroft. All of the clinical and treatment details will be sent to back Ashcroft to ensure that the records remain complete.

MiNightVet charge £118.68 from 7am to 7pm (which would only apply for weekend out of hours cases), and £147.62 from 7:00pm to 7:00am. They also have a round the clock £57.52 price for 'small pets' - rabbits, hamsters, mice etc. You will always receive an estimate from the Emergency Vets for the cost of any further tests or treatment that may be necessary, once they have examined your pet. If you intend to reclaim the costs of your pet's emergency treatment through your pet insurance policy, you will need to present the insurance documents and a claim form to the staff at Chester Gates. Payment will be expected when you collect your pet.
